This homemade bench delivers many purposes. It is made by a master teacher of 29 years who built homes for 13 summers and breaks. It is heavy-duty, made of solid pine and ash. It has compartments built into each, of two, steps measuring 13 inches high and then, 9 inches high. Kids use it to step or use it as a bench. It has great cubbies for baskets and books. It has a wooden strip for a secure backrest and nicely sanded handrails/guardrails to keep kids steady or for leaning against to lie against. It measures 49 inches high (4 feet high), 39 inches wide, and 25 inches deep. The step levels are mentioned above, so the bench height is 22 inches off the floor and the siderails reach 27 inches higher than the bench height.
